Celtic Eyeing Alternative Left-Back Targets as Tierney’s Move Delayed

Celtic are reportedly working on securing alternative left-back options ahead of the transfer deadline, as they now expect Kieran Tierney to remain at Arsenal until the end of the season. According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, while the Hoops had hoped to bring the Scotland international back to Parkhead on loan this month, it now appears Tierney will finish the season with the Gunners.

Celtic have already reached a pre-contract agreement with the 27-year-old defender, who is set to return to the club on a four-year deal in the summer. This move would mark a reunion six years after Tierney left Celtic for Arsenal in a record £25 million transfer.

Tierney spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Real Sociedad and has made five appearances for Arsenal this season. With his return to Celtic now likely to happen in the summer, the Scottish champions are exploring other left-back options to strengthen their squad in the meantime.
